Lakin Spears, LLP sponsors the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, Northern California, 49th annual Symposium “Break on Through: Advocacy, Justice and the Edge of Vengeance” in Napa from May 1-3, 2026. The Symposium focuses on the intersection of family law and other legal areas, including criminal law, probate, entertainment law, torts, and more. The Symposium also included a discussion by the Keynote Speaker, James Kimmel, Jr., who explores the science of revenge, addiction, forgiveness, and violence, followed by a workshop.

The Symposium is attended by hundreds of family law practitioners, bench officers, and members of the community, including almost all of the Lakin Spears attorneys.
