Collaborative Divorce is a voluntary, out-of-court process to resolve the legal, financial, and emotional issues of a divorce or separation. A professional team will be assembled based on the participants’ needs and will include lawyers and typically communications coaches, a financial expert, and a child specialist. Clients work together in a respectful way, keeping in mind the importance of protecting their children and other involved people from conflict. Decisions are made by the clients without going to court or involving a judge or other third-party decision-maker. More information about Collaborative Divorce can be found at Collaborative Divorce California and International Academy of Collaborative Professionals.
